I had syntel test on 10th n got thru. then i had interview on 13th n it was
an HR n a bit abt project.
hey frm one of my frends i came to know abt the pattern n previous question
papers. unfortunately, i happened to get these info after my xam but no
worries coz i got thru the xam. hey frankly speakin time is very important
in this test. verbal u can do it off cooly. n analytical i guess u wont be
able to sove all in time. i cudn't do n may be some can finish it off in
time.
comin to quants u have to really squeeze ur sweat out of ur pants to finish
it off in time. i guess no one will be able to complete this section on
time. hey truly speakin if u dont prepare seriously for test u wont be able
to cross even the cut-off. so guys prepare hard. some questions r damn easy
i mean they look as if they need some solving steps but if u people
think logically u can straight away know the answer.
The test was like.
verbal 25 qns(15 min)....cutoff is 15 i guess
anal 30 qns( 30 min).....cutoff is 15
quants 45 qns(30 min)....cutoff is 22 or 23
comin to my interview..it was cool. as i told u before HR n a bit
abt project. they will declare the results in 10 or 12 days.
i was a bit nervous when i entered the room but i became cool within
seconds after the interviewer gave me a firm shake hand.
> he asked me to tell abt my family..
> then he asked me like did i gave my gre or toefl.
> then he asked the reason for not givin gre
> then i told abt myself..i mean my qualities..
when i told tat i'm a good advicer he immediately bombarded with a
question like when did u come to know tat u r a good advicer.. so be
prepared with some experiences with support ur qualities..
> then he asked me abt my hobbies..i also made him to smile while
saying my hobbies..
> he dint ask me anything abt the project as generally people ask but
he asked me like y did u choose this project.
> then he asked me like do i know anything abt the company..
> then he asked me any questions..then said bye.
tatz all i have to say..i got many mails i replied to some n i thought tat
instead of writing individually i write to group so tat everyone will get
the info n also the people who wrote me mails for info.
i wrote everything tat i know n itz all upto u to show ur talent now.

I had given the Syntel Interview about six months ago. This is what I
recollect about it. (apart from the 7hour wait)
There is only one interview.
There were typical interview FAQs such as,
1. Tell me something about yourself.
2. What are your strengths and weaknesses.
and technical questions like,
1. What is your favourite programming language.
2. Which are the various sorting algorithms, which one is most efficient and
under what circumstances.
3. Write a C function for sorting.
4. Can you make this code more efficient.
5. When are link lists used. Give me a few examples where link lists are
practically used.
6. Normalization and denormalization.
7. Concept of foreign key.
8. Write a query for something that I dont remember now(it was a complex one
with more than 2 tables, joins on all of them and a subselect)
9. How many phases are there in SDLC. Enumerate.
10. Waterfall model.
I dont remember few other questions.
A friend of mine was asked questions on SDLC and Java
