NEET is a single admission process to MBBS and post-graduate medical courses throughout the country. A division bench of Justice Dhananjay Chandrachud and Justice Amjad Sayed was hearing petitions filed by the state government, association of medical colleges ( AMC) and students, challenging MCIs notifications , prescribing and finalising the syllabus for NEET's advocate informed the court that on December 8, 2011, the Aurangabad bench has stayed the exams. She said three other high courts (Madras, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka) in the country have also stayed NEET. The Aurangabad bench is of the opinion that the syllabus is based on CBSE, she said. The MCI advocate submitted that NEET will not be implemented for the academic year 2012-13 but for 2013-14.
The judges said in view of MCIs statement, students will not get stressed and all uncertainties will go. They will get enough time to prepare themselves, said Justice Chandrachud.
