Advertisements IES/ISS examination is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment to the Grade IV officers for the Indian Statistical Service (ISS) and Indian Economic Service (IES).IES examIn order to attend the Engineering Service exam, aspirants have to pass the engineering graduation in any disciplines. They should have studied Mechanical, Electronics and Tele-Communication, Civil or Electrical Engineering. Postgraduates in Science streams can also attend the test. However, they should have specialized in Electronics, Radio Engineering, Radio Physics or Wireless Communications. In addition, they are supposed to be aged above 21 and below 30 years. UPSC carries out the Engineering Service examination every year for the recruitment of technically proficient professionals to fill in the various vacancies incurred in Indian departments.ISS examAspirants who have completed the Masters' degree in Statistics can apply for the ISS examination. Those who have passed the postgraduate degree in Applied or Mathematical Statistics can also appear for the test. Aspirants ought to have completed the program from a recognized institution or University. The ISS test will last for time duration of 3 days. Those who are short-listed in the written test may have to attend an individual interview thereafter so as to get into Indian Statistical Service wing of UPSC. The notification for the test will be published in leading employment dailies in the month of July every year and the test is conducted in December.Differentiators between IES exam and ISS exam IES exam is Engineering Service examination whereas ISS exam is Indian Statistical Service Examination. The IES exam is conducted for recruiting the qualified engineering graduates and postgraduates in Science from technical backgrounds whereas ISS exam is carried out for the recruitment of Masters' degree holders in Statistical or related fields.
