Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites Online Applications for recruitment examination of Indian Forest Service Exam, 2016 (IFS 2016). UPSC
will hold the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type)
for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main)
Examination; and Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and
Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest
Service. The Preliminary Examination is scheduled to be held on 7th
August 2016. The last date for submission of applications is 27th May
2016.

Minimum Educational Qualification: The candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects
namely Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry,
Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor's
degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering of any of Universities
incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions
established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a
University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act,
1956, or possess an equivalent qualification.
Plan of Examination: The Indian Forest Service Examination will consist of two successive stages:-
(1) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the
selection of candidates for the Indian Forest Service (Main)
Examination; and
(2) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination (Written and
Interview) for the selection of candidates for the Indian Forest
Service.
Application Fee: For General and OBC Category
Candidates applying for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination are
required to pay a fee of ₹ 100/- either by depositing the money in any
Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State
Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad/ State Bank of
Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/ State Bank of Travancore or by using
Visa/ Master Credit/ Debit card. No fee for Female/ SC/ ST/ PH candidates.
How to Apply: Eligible Candidates are required to apply Online
for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination which will act as a
screening mechanism for selection of candidates for the Indian Forest
Service (Main) Examination. The closing date for submission of online applications is 27/05/2016
