Designation	Engineer II/ Senior Engineer
Job Description	The responsibilities of this position are focused on core software development tasks of the PTCU LMS application. This position involves working as part of PTCU Product Development Team in Pune and closely with the Product Management and development teams in the US and to build effective and robust software products. For this position candidate should have experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle from design to implementation, maintenance, documentation and delivery. As part of the core software development team you will be a key contributor to development activities including hands-on object- oriented design, programming, and quality testing of the entire product. This involves an understanding of state-of-the-art software development tools on Windows and UNIX platforms, as well as working with an extended team to design high-level architectures and create execution plans. Translate design requirements and specifications into robust implementations Perform implementations to specification in a timely fashion Design and implement effective user interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use Participate in the design and planning process Typically takes work direction from a Lead. Communicate effort estimates to the Lead. Solicit code reviews for your work and participate in code reviews of others work Resolve assigned SPRs and continually reduce SPR backlog Research new technologies and then evangelize the application of appropriate technologies in the product
Desired Profile	Qualification 'Graduate/Post Graduate in Computer Science or Engineering Required Skill Set: 'Strong software design and development industry experience of 3-6 years 'Minimum 2 - 6 years industry experience performing Java/J2EE software design and development duties 'Strong Java and Java Servlets experience 'Familiarity with J2EE and XML technologies 'RDBMS V Any major RDBMS and strong ANSI SQL knowledge 'Soft Skills V Effective oral and written communication, Analytical, Problem Solving Ability 'Work effectively as part of the team with minimal supervision Preferred Skill Set: 'Web Technologies - HTML, HTTP, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX 'Container V Apache HTTP Web Server and Apache Tomcat Servlet Container preferred 'Experience on MySQL and Oracle server preferred. 'Configuration Tool V Exposure to any major configuration tool and change management concepts. Experience on Rational Clearcase or Subversion will be definite plus 'OS V Familiarity with Unix, Shell scripts, and Sun Solaris server preferred 'Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Saba, OLAT, Sakai and others will be definite plus
