What You ll do
WAN-Orchestration (WAN-O)/SDN Group
The goal of WAN-O is to help Service Providers eliminate their pain points, in planning and managing their networks, and thereby reducing the time taken and Opex. The group is focused on creating cutting-edge Network Automation solutions for Service Providers. It works in the space of Software Defined Networking (SDN). The team in Bangalore is involved in two of the flagship products:
WAN Automation Engine (WAE): It encompasses collection, abstraction, visualization and deployment of Multi-Vendor, Multi-Layer, Multi-Area networks. WAE support various L3 protocols and features, like IGP (OSPF/ISIS), BGP-LS, PCEP, RSVP LSP, L3/L3 VPN, Multicast, P2MP. WAE is extending its support to some key Cisco SP initiatives, including Segment Routing and Unified Multi-Layer aka UML (integration with L1/optical).
WAE Network Interface Module, collects information from Network using SNMP, CLI, Netconf, Netflow and creates an Abstract Network Model, consisting both the topology and traffic stats. The abstracted Network model is exposed to WAE products for optimizations and simulations, and also via Rest APIs, to which any 3rd party Apps can attach to.
WAE supports various vendors like Cisco, Juniper, Huawei, ALU and various variations of Network-OS, and has an extensive customer base across Tier-1 and Tier-2 Service Providers.
ROBOT (Robotic Operations Based On Telemetry): Streaming Telemetry enables unprecedented levels of visibility into the network and transforms network monitoring into a Big-Data problem. Combined with programmatic models and APIs, it opens up new capabilities like near real-time traffic engineering, fault detection/prediction and automated remediation. Robot harnesses the Big-Data techniques to transform network data into network intelligence and addresses key customer pain points.
Both WAE and ROBOT, also integrates with NSO/Tail-F, which brings an efficient network orchestration functionality using Netconf/Yang.
Who You'll Work With
About ROBOT/WAE Team
