The Uttar Pradesh Management
Common Aptitude Test UPMCAT is held foradmission to the two year full
time MBA / MMS / MIBM / MMEM / MTM / MCM / MFCmanagement courses
offered at University departments, government and privateinstitutions
of Uttar Pradesh.
The UPMCAT
test is conducted
by the Uttar Pradesh Technical University(UPTU) Lucknow at specified centres
forcandidates aspiring to enter Management Institutes in the State of
U.P.
Candidates successful in the written
testexamination are called for the Group Discussions and personal
interviews.
Programs
On the basis of UPMCAT merit ranking
theparticipating institutes offers the following programs of

Eligibility for UPMCAT
2013:
Nationality: Admissions are
opento Indian Nationals only. Candidates who have passed the qualifying
examinationfrom an institution / university located in the state of
U.P. are eligible foradmission at all the institutions (irrespective of
their domicile).
Candidates who have passed the
qualifyingexamination from institutions located outside the State of
Uttar Pradesh areeligible for admission to all the courses at all the
institutions anduniversities inside U.P. except Motilal Nehru Regional
Engineering College -MNREC Allahabad, now known called as National
Institute of Technology
(NIT)Allahabad.
Reservation of
seats: 21% seatsare reserved for schedule caste (SC), 2%
seats are reserved for schedule tribeand 27% seats are reserved for
other backward category candidates respectivelyon all
Indiabasis.
Educational
Qualification: Athree year Bachelor?s degree in any
discipline from a recognized university
orboard.
Candidates who are due to appear at thequalifying
examination or have appeared but results are awaited, are alsoeligible
to take the UPMCAT.
Some institutions (under UPMCAT)
specify minimumpercentage of marks for admission to different
management streams at
Graduationlevel.
To know about the eligibility criteria
in aparticular institute, candidates are required to consult the
concernedinstitute / university.
UPMCAT 2013
ExamPattern:
The UPMCAT Test consists of multiple
choiceobjective type questions to test the Verbal Ability, Quantitative
Aptitude,Logical & Abstract Reasoning and Knowledge of Current
Affairs. The test isdivided into four
sections.
Section A - Test of
proficiencyin English Language. The questions cover grammar,
vocabulary, sentencecompletion, synonyms, antonyms, relationship
between words and phrases andcomprehension of
passages.
Section B - Test of
NumericalAptitude based on general mathematics, numerical calculation,
arithmetic,simple algebra and geometry. This also tests the ability to
interpret commongraphs charts and
tables.
Section C - Speed And
AccuracyOf Thinking and decisions making. The test is based on
assessment of figures,diagrams, unfamiliar relationships and verbal
reasoning.
Section D - Knowledge of
currentaffairs related to trade, industry, economy, sports and
culture.
