Hall.However,suchcandidates will have to bring their own Magnifying
Glassintheexamination hall.</font></p><div class="cls_cnt"><h3><font size="1">StatisticalInvestigator Grade IV Examination 2008
AgeLimit</font></h3><p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>3.Nationality/
Citizenship:</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Acandidate must
beeither:</font></p> <ol type="a"><li><p><font size="1">a citizen
ofIndia,or</font></p></li><li><font size="1">a subject
ofNepal,or</font></li><li><font size="1">asubject of
Bhutan,or</font></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">a Tibetan refugee whocame
overto India, before the 1st Januarys 962, with the intention
ofpermanentlysettling in India,
or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">aperson of Indian origin whohas
migrated fromPakistan, Burma, SriLanka, East African countries ofKenya,
Uganda, theUnited Republic ofTanzania (Formerly Tanganyika
andZanzibar), Zambia,Malawi, Zaire,Ethiopia and Vietnam with the
permanentlysettlinginIndia.</font></p></li></ol><font size="1"><br></font><p align="justify"><font size="1">Provided that a candidate belonging tocategories(b),
(c),(d) and (e) above, shall be a person in whosefavour acertificate
ofeligibility has been issued by the Government
ofIndia.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Acandidate in whose case acertificate of eligibility
isnecessary maybe admitted to theExamination but the offer of
appointmentwill begiven only after thenecessary eligibility certificate
has beenissuedto him by theGovernment of India.</font></p>

AgeLimit:</strong>Not exceeding 26 years as on 29.02.2008being
theclosing date forreceipt of applications (i.e. not bornearlier
than01.03.1982).</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Note:</strong>Candidates shouldnotethat
only the date of birth as recorded
inthematriculation/secondaryexamination certificate or

<ol start="3"><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Uptoa maximum of 10years if the candidate is a
physicallyhandicappedperson. Forcandidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC who
arephysicallyhandicapped, themaximum relaxation of 10 years
permissibleforphysically handicappedshall be in addition to the
agerelaxationprovided in terms of sub-para(i) and
(ii)above;</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Uptothe maximum of 5 years
tocandidates of Jammuand Kashmir who haveordinarily been domiciled in
theState of Jammu andKashmir during theperiod from 1.1.1980 to
31.12.1989.Any personintending to avail ofthe aforesaid relaxation
shall submitthecertificate from eitherDistrict Magistrate within
whosejurisdictionhe/she had ordinarilyresided or any other authority
sodesignated inthis behalf by theGovt, of Jammu and Kashmir to the
effectthat he/shehad ordinarilybeen domiciled in the State of Jammu
andKashmir duringthe period01.01.1980
to31.12.1989.</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Uptothe age of 35 years (upto40
years for membersof Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes and 38 yearsfor
OBCs) in the caseof widows; porcedwomen and women judiciallyseparated
from theirhusbands and who
havenotremarried.</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Upto a maximumof 3 years
(8years for SC/ST and 6years for OBCs candidates) in thecase of
DefencePersonnel disabled inoperation during hostilities withany
foreigncountry or in a disturbedarea and released
asaconsequencethereof.</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Upperagelimit is also
relaxableto retrenched employees of Chukha HydelProjectAuthority in
Bhutan whowere directly recruited, to the extentofservice rendered by
them withthe Authority (period of servicerenderedby the retrenched
employees !will be decided on the basisofcertificate issued by the
<p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Note-I:</strong>The closing
dateforreceipt of application will be treated as the dateof reckoning
forOBCstatus of the candidate and also, for assumingthat the
candidatedoesnot fall in the Creamy Layer on
thereckoningdate.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">The candidate should furnish
therelevant OBCcertificate inthe format prescribed for
CentralGovernment jobs as perAnnexure-VIIissued by competent authority
on orbefore the Closing Datestipulated inthe Notice. Application
ofcandidates furnishing OBCCertificate inProforma/ Format other thanthe
prescribed format asgiven inAnnexure-VII will be

2008EducationalQualifications</font></h3> <p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>As on
29.02.2008i.e. Normal
ClosingDate</strong></font></p><ul><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Bachelor's Degree with
Statistics as one of themainsubjects,
or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Bachelor'sDegree
withMathematics (with Statisticsas a paper studied in oneyear/ two
years/all the three years as thecase may be) as one of
themainsubjects,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Bachelor'sDegree with
Economics(with Statistics asa paper studied in one year/two years/all
the threeyears as the casemay be) as one of
themainsubjects,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Bachelor'sDegreewith
Commerce(with Statistics as a paper studied in one year/twoyears/ all
the threeyears as the case may be) as one
ofthemainsubjects.</font></p></li></ul><font size="1"><br></font><p align="justify"><font size="1">Note-I: Candidates, who are not Graduate as onthestipulated
date, are not eligible and need not apply
forthepost.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Note-II:All candidates who aredeclared qualified by
theCommission for takingthe Interview will berequired to produce proof
ofpassing therequisite Examination as a'result of which the candidate
hasclaimedto be educationally qualifiedon the date mentioned above, at
thetimeof Interview, failing which thecandidature of such candidates
willbecancelled by theCommission.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Conditionsregardingengaging
ofScribe for visually handicapped candidates withvisualdisability
offorty percent and above Visually handicapped(VH)candidates
includingBlind and partially blind persons withvisualdisabilities not
less thanforty percent can avail the assistanceof aSCRIBE for writing
replies ontheir behalf as the question papersforthe examination will be
set onlyin Hindi and English. </font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Suchvisually
handicappedcandidates will haveto appear for the
StatisticalInvestigator Grade IVExamination,2008 atany one of the
specifiedcentres viz. New Delhi,Kolkata, Mumbai,Chennai, Bangalore,
Guwahati,Allahabad Chandigarh andRaipur at theirown risk and expense.
Theywill also have to indicate/state themedium(Hindi or English) in
whichthe Scribe would be requiredto writethe replies of the questions
setin the examination on his/herbehalf.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Relevantinformation, including
theDegree of Disability inorder toauthenticate their status as
VisuallyHandicapped candidates,will haveto be furnished in the
prescribedrequisition form as perAnnexure-IXto the concerned Regional /
SubRegional Offices by theVisuallyHandicapped(with visual disability
offorty percent and aboveandopting for engaging SCRIBE) alongwith
theApplication form fortheStatistical Investigator Grade
IVExamination,2008, failing whichtheCommission will not entertain
anysubsequent request forprovidingScribe to the candidate
intheexamination.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">TheCommission will
notmakeavailable the Question Papers of theexamination meant
forvisuallyhandicapped candidates at ExaminationCentres other than
theabove nineCentres designated for suchcandidates and the facility
ofengagingSCRIBE will not be available atother Examination
Centres.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Candidateswill not be allowed to bring theirown scribe
inthe StatisticalInvestigators Grade VI Examination, 2008.A Scribe
willbe provided bythe Commission on receipt of prior requestfrom
thecandidates. TheQuestion Paper of Arithmetic for VH candidateswill
nothave anycomponent of Map/Graphs/ Statistical Data
OrDiagrams/Figures/Geometrical Problems Etc.
</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">The Visuallyhandicapped,including blind andpartially blind
candidates with visualdisability offorty percent orabove will be
allowed to bring their ownTailor FrameAnd Braille SlateWith Paper for
solving Arithmeticalproblems. NoAttendant with VHcandidates shall be
allowed inside theexaminationpremises. </font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">All the VisuallyHandicapped
Candidates OptingFor ScribeWill Most Likely BeAccommodated At One
Examination Venue oftheDesignated
ExaminationCentre.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Provision
ofExtraTime</strong></font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">VisuallyHandicapped
candidateswill be allowed anExtra Time of 20 minutes forPaper-I and 40
minutesextra time for thePaper-ll.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Provisionfor one
eyedcandidatesand visually handicapped candidates usingMagnifying
Glasswhose visualDegree of Disability is less
thanfortypercent</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">One eyed candidates and
visuallyhandicappedcandidates whosevisual Degree of Disability is less
thanforty percentwill not beconsidered as visually handicapped
persons.</font></p><p align="justify"><font size="1">Further, partially blindcandidates who are able toread the
normalQuestion Paper set for all thecandidates with orwithout
magnifyingglass and who wish towrite/indicate the answer withthe help
ofMagnifying Glass will beallowed to use the Magnifying Glassin
theExamination Hall and will notbe provided with
aScribe.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">However,such candidateswillhave to bring their own
Magnifying Glass in theExaminationHall.Further, such candidates may opt
for any of theExamination Centreasmentioned in the Commission's Notice
includingthe nineExaminationCentres designated for the Visually
Handicappedcandidatesincludingblind and partially blind candidates
whose visualDegree ofDisabilityis more than forty
percent.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Further,such candidates willnot be provided withthe
Question Paper Set Meantfor VisuallyHandicapped Candidates WhoRequire
the Assistance ofAScribe.</font></p> <p><font size="1"><strong>Noperson:</strong></font></p><ol type="a"><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">who
has entered into or contracted a marriage with apersonhaving spouse
living;or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Whohaving a spouse living
hasentered into orcontracted a marriage withany person, shall be
eligiblefor appointmentto
service</font></p></li></ol><p align="justify"><font size="1">Providedthat Centralgovernment
may, if satisfiedthat such marriage ispermissible under thepersonal law
applicable tosuch person and theother party to themarriage and there
are othergrounds for so doing,exempt any person fromthe operation of
thisrule.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Acandidate must be ingoodmental and bodily health and free
from anyphysical defect likelytointerfere with the efficient discharge
of hisduties as an officerofthe service. A candidate, who after
such-medical examination as maybeprescribed by the competent
authority,is found not to satisfytheserequirements, will not be
appointed.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Only such candidates as arelikely to be consideredfor
appointment will be medicallyexamined.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1"><strong>Note:</strong>In the case ofthedisabled
Ex-Defence Services personnel, acertificate of fitnessgrantedby the
Demobilisation Medical Board ofthe Defence Service willbeconsidered
adequate for the purposeofappointment.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">The decision of theCommission
as to the eligibilityorotherwise of a candidate foradmission to the
examination shallbefinal.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">No candidate will be admittedto
the examination unlesshe/she holds a certificate of admission (AC)from
theCommission.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Candidates(except ex-servicemen released from
theArmedForces and those who aregranted remission of fee
videCommission'sadvertisement) must pay
thefeeprescribedtherein.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Any attempt on the part
ofacandidate to obtain support for his/her candidature by any
meansmaydisqualify him for admission.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Actionagainst candidates
foundguilty of misconduct:</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Candidatesare warned that
theyshould not furnishany particulars that are falseor suppress
anymaterial informationwhile filling in the
applicationform.</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Candidates are also warned
thatthey should in nocaseattempt to alter or otherwise tamper with
anyentry in a documentor theattested certified copy submitted by
themnor should they submitatampered/fabricated document.
</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">Ifthere is any inaccuracy orany discrepancy, an explanation
regardingthis discrepancy should besubmitted.</font></p>
<p align="justify"><font size="1">A candidate who is or has
been declared by theCommission tobe guilty of :-</font></p>
<ul type="i"><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Obtaining support forhis candidature by any
means,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Impersonating,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Procuringimpersonation by
anyperson, or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Submitting fabricated
documentsor documents whichhave been tampered
with,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Making statements which
areincorrect or false orsuppressing
materialinformation,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Resorting toany other
irregularor improper means in connection with his/hercandidature for
theexamination, or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Writing irrelevant
mattersincluding obscenelanguages or pornographic matter in
thescript,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Misbehavingin any other
mannerin the
examinationhall,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Using unfairmeans in
theexamination hall,
or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">PossessingMobilePhones/Cellular
Phones/ Pagers/communication devices or anyotherunauthorized electronic
gadget insidethe Examinationpremises/Venue,whether in use or not
(Candidates bymere possession ofany of theseitems will be deemed to
have been usingunfair means andwouldaccordingly be liable to
disciplinary action asdeemed fit,including banfrom future examination
conducted byS.S.C),or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Takingawaythe
QuestionBooklet/Answer Sheet with him/her from theexaminationhall, or
passingit on to unauthorised persons during theconduct of
theexamination,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Harassing or causing bodilyharm
to the staffemployed by the Commission for the conduct of
theseexamination,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Violationofany of
theinstructions issued to candidates alongwith
theirAdmissionCertificates(AC) permitting them to
takeexamination,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">Attemptingtocommit, or as
thecase may be, abetting the commission of all or anyofthe acts
specifiedin "the foregoing clauses, may, in additiontorendering
himself/ herselfliable to criminal
prosecution,beliable:-</font></p></li><ul type="a"><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">tobe disqualified by the Commission from theexamination
forwhich he/sheis a candidate as also from any
otherexamination/selectionof theCommission in which he/she might
haveappeared but thefinalresult/selection has not yet been
declared/made,and/or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">to bedebarred eitherpermanently
or for a specified period which may extendupto 10
years:-</font></p><ul type="i"><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">by the Commission from
anyexamination or selectionheld by
them;</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">by the Central Government
fromany employment
underthem;and</font></p></li></ul></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">todisciplinary action under
appropriate rules ifhe/she is already inservice
underGovernment,or</font></p></li><li><p align="justify"><font size="1">to any otherappropriate
legalaction.</font></p></li></ul></ul><p align="justify"><font size="1">A. Fee Payable:
Rs.80/-(RupeesEightyonly).</font></p> <p align="justify"><font size="1">No fee for Scheduled
<p align="justify"><font size="1">Feeconcession is not
admissibleto sons anddaughters of ExS or to personsbelonging to Other
BackwardClasses.Service clerks in the last year oftheir colour service
