Note-I: Candidates, who are not Graduate as onthestipulated
date, are not eligible and need not apply
forthepost.
Note-II:All candidates who aredeclared qualified by
theCommission for takingthe Interview will berequired to produce proof
ofpassing therequisite Examination as a'result of which the candidate
hasclaimedto be educationally qualifiedon the date mentioned above, at
thetimeof Interview, failing which thecandidature of such candidates
willbecancelled by theCommission.
Conditionsregardingengaging
ofScribe for visually handicapped candidates withvisualdisability
offorty percent and above Visually handicapped(VH)candidates
includingBlind and partially blind persons withvisualdisabilities not
less thanforty percent can avail the assistanceof aSCRIBE for writing
replies ontheir behalf as the question papersforthe examination will be
set onlyin Hindi and English.
Suchvisually
handicappedcandidates will haveto appear for the
StatisticalInvestigator Grade IVExamination,2008 atany one of the
specifiedcentres viz. New Delhi,Kolkata, Mumbai,Chennai, Bangalore,
Guwahati,Allahabad Chandigarh andRaipur at theirown risk and expense.
Theywill also have to indicate/state themedium(Hindi or English) in
whichthe Scribe would be requiredto writethe replies of the questions
setin the examination on his/herbehalf.
Relevantinformation, including
theDegree of Disability inorder toauthenticate their status as
VisuallyHandicapped candidates,will haveto be furnished in the
prescribedrequisition form as perAnnexure-IXto the concerned Regional /
SubRegional Offices by theVisuallyHandicapped(with visual disability
offorty percent and aboveandopting for engaging SCRIBE) alongwith
theApplication form fortheStatistical Investigator Grade
IVExamination,2008, failing whichtheCommission will not entertain
anysubsequent request forprovidingScribe to the candidate
intheexamination.
TheCommission will
notmakeavailable the Question Papers of theexamination meant
forvisuallyhandicapped candidates at ExaminationCentres other than
theabove nineCentres designated for suchcandidates and the facility
ofengagingSCRIBE will not be available atother Examination
Centres.
Candidateswill not be allowed to bring theirown scribe
inthe StatisticalInvestigators Grade VI Examination, 2008.A Scribe
willbe provided bythe Commission on receipt of prior requestfrom
thecandidates. TheQuestion Paper of Arithmetic for VH candidateswill
nothave anycomponent of Map/Graphs/ Statistical Data
OrDiagrams/Figures/Geometrical Problems Etc.
The Visuallyhandicapped,including blind andpartially blind
candidates with visualdisability offorty percent orabove will be
allowed to bring their ownTailor FrameAnd Braille SlateWith Paper for
solving Arithmeticalproblems. NoAttendant with VHcandidates shall be
allowed inside theexaminationpremises.
All the VisuallyHandicapped
Candidates OptingFor ScribeWill Most Likely BeAccommodated At One
Examination Venue oftheDesignated
ExaminationCentre.
Provision
ofExtraTime
VisuallyHandicapped
candidateswill be allowed anExtra Time of 20 minutes forPaper-I and 40
minutesextra time for thePaper-ll.
Provisionfor one
eyedcandidatesand visually handicapped candidates usingMagnifying
Glasswhose visualDegree of Disability is less
thanfortypercent
One eyed candidates and
visuallyhandicappedcandidates whosevisual Degree of Disability is less
thanforty percentwill not beconsidered as visually handicapped
persons.
Further, partially blindcandidates who are able toread the
normalQuestion Paper set for all thecandidates with orwithout
magnifyingglass and who wish towrite/indicate the answer withthe help
ofMagnifying Glass will beallowed to use the Magnifying Glassin
theExamination Hall and will notbe provided with
aScribe.
However,such candidateswillhave to bring their own
Magnifying Glass in theExaminationHall.Further, such candidates may opt
for any of theExamination Centreasmentioned in the Commission's Notice
includingthe nineExaminationCentres designated for the Visually
Handicappedcandidatesincludingblind and partially blind candidates
whose visualDegree ofDisabilityis more than forty
percent.
Further,such candidates willnot be provided withthe
Question Paper Set Meantfor VisuallyHandicapped Candidates WhoRequire
the Assistance ofAScribe.
Noperson:
who
has entered into or contracted a marriage with apersonhaving spouse
living;or
Whohaving a spouse living
hasentered into orcontracted a marriage withany person, shall be
eligiblefor appointmentto
service
Providedthat Centralgovernment
may, if satisfiedthat such marriage ispermissible under thepersonal law
applicable tosuch person and theother party to themarriage and there
are othergrounds for so doing,exempt any person fromthe operation of
thisrule.
Acandidate must be ingoodmental and bodily health and free
from anyphysical defect likelytointerfere with the efficient discharge
of hisduties as an officerofthe service. A candidate, who after
such-medical examination as maybeprescribed by the competent
authority,is found not to satisfytheserequirements, will not be
appointed.
Only such candidates as arelikely to be consideredfor
appointment will be medicallyexamined.
Note:In the case ofthedisabled
Ex-Defence Services personnel, acertificate of fitnessgrantedby the
Demobilisation Medical Board ofthe Defence Service willbeconsidered
adequate for the purposeofappointment.
The decision of theCommission
as to the eligibilityorotherwise of a candidate foradmission to the
examination shallbefinal.
No candidate will be admittedto
the examination unlesshe/she holds a certificate of admission (AC)from
theCommission.
Candidates(except ex-servicemen released from
theArmedForces and those who aregranted remission of fee
videCommission'sadvertisement) must pay
thefeeprescribedtherein.
Any attempt on the part
ofacandidate to obtain support for his/her candidature by any
meansmaydisqualify him for admission.
Actionagainst candidates
foundguilty of misconduct:
Candidatesare warned that
theyshould not furnishany particulars that are falseor suppress
anymaterial informationwhile filling in the
applicationform.
Candidates are also warned
thatthey should in nocaseattempt to alter or otherwise tamper with
anyentry in a documentor theattested certified copy submitted by
themnor should they submitatampered/fabricated document.
Ifthere is any inaccuracy orany discrepancy, an explanation
regardingthis discrepancy should besubmitted.
A candidate who is or has
been declared by theCommission tobe guilty of :-
Obtaining support forhis candidature by any
means,or
Impersonating,or
Procuringimpersonation by
anyperson, or
Submitting fabricated
documentsor documents whichhave been tampered
with,or
Making statements which
areincorrect or false orsuppressing
materialinformation,or
Resorting toany other
irregularor improper means in connection with his/hercandidature for
theexamination, or
Writing irrelevant
mattersincluding obscenelanguages or pornographic matter in
thescript,or
Misbehavingin any other
mannerin the
examinationhall,or
Using unfairmeans in
theexamination hall,
or
PossessingMobilePhones/Cellular
Phones/ Pagers/communication devices or anyotherunauthorized electronic
gadget insidethe Examinationpremises/Venue,whether in use or not
(Candidates bymere possession ofany of theseitems will be deemed to
have been usingunfair means andwouldaccordingly be liable to
disciplinary action asdeemed fit,including banfrom future examination
conducted byS.S.C),or
Takingawaythe
QuestionBooklet/Answer Sheet with him/her from theexaminationhall, or
passingit on to unauthorised persons during theconduct of
theexamination,or
Harassing or causing bodilyharm
to the staffemployed by the Commission for the conduct of
theseexamination,or
Violationofany of
theinstructions issued to candidates alongwith
theirAdmissionCertificates(AC) permitting them to
takeexamination,or
Attemptingtocommit, or as
thecase may be, abetting the commission of all or anyofthe acts
specifiedin "the foregoing clauses, may, in additiontorendering
himself/ herselfliable to criminal
prosecution,beliable:-
tobe disqualified by the Commission from theexamination
forwhich he/sheis a candidate as also from any
otherexamination/selectionof theCommission in which he/she might
haveappeared but thefinalresult/selection has not yet been
declared/made,and/or
to bedebarred eitherpermanently
or for a specified period which may extendupto 10
years:-
todisciplinary action under
appropriate rules ifhe/she is already inservice
underGovernment,or
to any otherappropriate
legalaction.
A. Fee Payable:

No fee for Scheduled
Castes/Scheduled
Tribes/PhysicallyHandicapped/Ex-Servicemen.
Feeconcession is not
admissibleto sons anddaughters of ExS or to personsbelonging to Other
BackwardClasses.Service clerks in the last year oftheir colour service
are notexemptedfrom payment of fee.
Ex-Servicemenwho have
alreadytaken up a Governmentjob shall be considered againstGeneral
vacanciesand, hence, shall notbe entitled for fee concession[see Note-I
of Para4(C)].
B. Mode ofPayment: The candidates should paythe fee bymeans
of "CentralRecruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)". Thesestamps areavailable at
thecounter of all departmental post offices ofthe
country.TheseRecruitment Fee Stamps may be pasted in the spaceearmarked
forthepurpose in the Application form.
TheseRecruitment Stamps must
begot cancelled fromthe Counter Clerks of anyPost Office of issue
withthe date stamp ofthe Issuing Office in sucha manner that the
impressionor thecancellation stamps partiallyoverflows on the
Application Formitself,taking care at the same timethat the impression
is clear anddistinctto facilitate theidentification of date and post
office ofissue at anysubsequentstage.
After getting
theRecruitmentFeeStamps cancelled from the Post Office, the candidate
maysubmittheirapplication to the concerned Regional Office of
theCommission intheusual manner after completing
otherformalities.
NoteI: Fee once paid will
notbe refunded under anycircumstances.
NoteII:Fee paid by modes
otherthan CRFS will not beaccepted and theapplications of such
candidateswill be rejectedforthwith and thepayment made shall
standforfeited.

beallowed or provided the helpof a scribe towrite the answers
forthem.
B. Interview
-100marks
Onlythose Candidates who secure
in the writtenexaminationthe minimumqualifying marks as may be fixed by
theCommission at theirdiscretion,will be eligible to appear
attheInterview.
TheInterview will be held atthe
Commission?s Regional Offices or otherCentres as may be decided
bytheCommission.
Theinterview/personality testis
structured in sucha manner that thecandidates? interests,
knowledge,various traits,aptitude,suitability, etc. are probed, among
otherthings, throughacademicqualifications, extra-curricular
activities,generalawareness/knowledge, depth of knowledge of the
subject studied(10+2onwards),communicative skill
andpersonalityetc.
SC/STcandidates called
forInterview will be paid TAas per Govt.Order.However, no TA is payable
toany candidate forappearing in thewritten examination.Canvassing in
anyform
willdisqualifythecandidates.
