Kerala Entrance Examination (KEAM&currentYear)

Eligibility forAdmission:

(A) Nativity:
(i) Applicant should be an Indian citizen. PersonsofIndian Origin (PIO)/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card Holders willbetreated on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose ofadmission.
(ii) BothKeralites and Non-Keralites are eligible toapply for the EntranceExamination. Applicants of Kerala origin will becategorized as?Keralites?. Others will be categorizedas?Non-Keralites?.
(iii) A candidate will be considered as a?Keralite?, forthe limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if (a)he/she or his/herfather/mother was born in Kerala OR (b) he/she hasbeen a resident of Keralafor a period of 5 years within a period of 12years OR (c) he/she has undergonehis/her school studies from StandardsVIII to XII in educational institution(s)in Kerala. The candidateshould obtain relevant certificates in the applicationform asprescribed in the Prospectus to avail suchbenefit.
(iv)Candidates who are children of All India Service(AIS) officers allottedto Kerala cadre, claiming Keralite Status, shouldproduce a certificatefrom the competent authority showing that the parent ofthe candidate isan AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre. (v) Non-Keralitesareclassified as ?Non-Keralite Category-I? and ?Non-KeraliteCategory-II?. (vi)?Non-Keralite Category-I? candidates are those whohave undergone thequalifying course in Kerala, and who are thesons/daughters of Employees of theGovernment of India,or,
employees whoare serving in connection with the affairsof the Government of Kerala,subject to the condition that, all categories ofthe employees mentionedabove should have served in Kerala for a minimum periodof 2 years, or,have served in connection with the affairs of the Government ofKeralafor a minimum period of 2 years. Such candidates will be eligibleforadmission to the Government seats under ?State Merit? only, for allthecourses, which are filled on the basis of the rank in theEntranceExamination(s) or the rank
list prepared by giving equal weightage to themarks inNATA and qualifying examination, asapplicable.
(vii)Candidates who do not belong to the ?Keralite? or?Non-KeraliteCategory-I? will be treated as ?Non-Keralite Category-II'. Theyareeligible for admission ONLY to the ?State Merit? seats in thePrivateSelf-financing Engineering Colleges in the State and in theManagement Quotaseats in Self-financing Engineering institutionssponsored by Government.Non-Keralite candidates will not be consideredfor admission againstreservedseats.

Academic Qualification:
(i)Medical/Agriculture/VeterinaryCourses: Candidates should havepassed the HigherSecondary Examination or examination recognized asequivalent thereto, with 50%marks in Biology, and 50% marks in Physics,Chemistry and Biology put together.Those who wish to take admission toMBBS/BDS courses should acquire 50% marksin the Medical EntranceExamination (As per the guidelines issued by MedicalCouncil of India).Candidates seeking admission to BVSc. & AH course undertheKerala
