Government of Kerala conducts this examination under the
name of Kerala Engineering, Agricultural and Medical (KEAM) Entrance Examination.
The students willing to earn a degree in engineering /agriculture /medical /
architecture take this examination, in general.
Entrance Examinations for Admission to Medical / Agriculture
/ Veterinary /Engineering / Architecture Degree Courses, Kerala -2013
1. Applications are invited for the Entrance Examinations
for admission to the following Degree Courses in various Professional Colleges
in the State.

under the Kerala Agricultural
University]
(e) KEAM 2013 Architecture
* B.Arch.
Note: Candidates satisfying the eligibility conditions as
laid down in the Prospectus and who seek admission to all the above mentioned
courses in Government seats have to apply in the prescribed application form
issued by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE).
There is separate Entrance Examinations for admission to
Engineering and Medical Courses conducted by the CEE and the allotment will be
based on the rank in these Entrance Examinations. The CEE will not conduct any
Entrance Examination for admission to B.Arch. course.
However, candidates seeking admission to B.Arch. course
should compulsorily appear and qualify the National Aptitude Test in
Architecture (NATA) conducted by the National Institute of Advanced Studies in
Architecture(NIASA).
Selection Procedure for KEAM 2013 Exam:
(A)Nativity:
Applicant should be an Indian citizen. PIO/OCI Card Holders
who have studied/are studying in Kerala from Class VIII to XII will be treated
on par with Indian citizens for the limited purpose of admission.
Both Keralites and Non-Keralites are eligible to apply for
the Entrance Examination. Applicants of Kerala origin will be categorized as? Keralites?.
Others will be categorized as? Non-Keralites?.
A candidate will be considered as a ?Keralite?, for the
limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if
He/she has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years
within a periodof 12 years OR
He/she has undergone his/her school studies from Standards
VIII to XII ineducational institution(s) in Kerala. The candidate should submit
relevant certificate along with the application form as prescribed in the
Prospectus to avail such benefit.
Candidates who are children of All India Service (AIS)
officers allotted to Kerala cadre, claiming Keralite Status, should produce a
certificate from the competent authority showing that the parent of the
candidate is an AIS officer allotted to Kerala cadre.
Non-Keralites are classified as ?Non-Keralite Category-I?
and ?Non-Keralite Category-II?.
?Non-KeraliteCategory-I? candidates are those
who have undergone the qualifying course in Kerala, and who are the
sons/daughters of Employees of the Government of India, or, employees who are
serving in connection with the affairs of the Government of Kerala, subject to
the condition that, all categories of the employees mentioned above should have
served in Kerala for a minimum period of 2 years, or, have served in connection
with the affairs of the Government of Kerala for a minimum period of 2years.
Such candidates will be eligible for admission to the Government seats under ?State
Merit? only, for all the courses, which are filled on the basis of the rank in
the Entrance Examination(s) or the rank list prepared by giving equal weight
age to the marks in NATA and qualifying examination, as applicable.
Candidates who do not belong to the ?Keralite?
or?Non-Keralite Category-I? will be treated as ?Non-Keralite Category-II'. They
are eligible for admission ONLY to the ?State Merit? seats in the Private Self-financing
Engineering Colleges in the State and in the Management Quota seats in Self-financing
Engineering institutions sponsored by Government. Non-Keralite candidates will
not be considered for admission against reserved eats.
KEAM 2013 Educational Qualifications
Academic Qualifications for KEAM 2013Exam
Medical/Agriculture/Veterinary/B.Sc.?Nursing (Ayurveda) and B.Pharm.
(Ayurveda) Courses:
Candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary
Examination or examination recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in
Biology, and 50%marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together. Those who
wish to take admission to MBBS/BD Scorsese should acquire 50% marks in the
Medical Entrance Examination (As per the guidelines issued by Medical Council of
India).
Eligibility of B.Sc. Degree holders:
Those who apply based on their B.Sc. Degree, for admission
to MBBS, BDS,BAMS, B.H.M.S, BSMS, B.Sc. (Nursing)and B.Sc. (MLT) Courses, should
have obtained their B.Sc. Degree with one of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry,
Zoology, Botany, Bio-Chemistry?s Main, and any one or two of these subjects as
subsidiaries, with 50%arks for Main and Subsidiaries taken together, provided
they have passed the Higher Secondary or equivalent examination, with Physics,
Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects.
Engineering Courses:
Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination,
Kerala or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics
separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry /Bio-technology
/ Computer Science /Biology put together are eligible for admission. Candidates
having Three year Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical
Examinations, Kerala or equivalent, having 50% marks in the final Diploma
examination, are also eligible for admission. However, these Diploma holders
are not eligible for admission to the Engineeringcourses offered by KeralaAgriculturalUniversity.
Architecture Course:
Candidates who have passed 10+2SeniorSecondary School
Certificate Examination or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with
Mathematics as a subject of examination, with 50% marks in aggregate are
eligible.
Candidates
who have passed Three year Diploma in Engineering or equivalent examination
with 50% marks in final Diploma examination are also eligible to apply. In
addition the candidates should qualify the NATA(National Aptitude Test in
Architecture) with40% marks.
Reserved
category (SC/ST/SEBC) candidates should have obtained a minimum of 35%marks in NATA,
as per guidelines of Council of Architecture.
Relaxation in marks in the Qualifying Examination for KEAM 2013
Exam:
For all courses,
a relaxation of 5% marks in the qualifying examination will be allowed to those
candidates who belong to the communities listed under the Socially and
Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) and whose annual family income is up to
Rs. 2.5 lakhs (Rupees Two Lakhs and Fifty Thousand only).
SC/ST candidates
need only a pass in the qualifying examination. But candidates belonging to
SEBC categories, seeking admission to MBBS/ BD Courses, need 45% marks in
Biology and 45% marks in physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, in the qualifying
examination and 40% marks in Medical Entrance Examination.
Candidates
belonging to SC/ST categories need40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology
put together in the qualifying examination and 40% marks in the Entrance
Examination for seeking admission to MBBS/BDS Courses.
Candidates who have appeared/ are appearing for Qualifying
Examinations for KEAM 2013 Exam:
Candidates who have
not passed the qualifying examination but have appeared/are appearing for the
Higher Secondary or equivalent examination or the three-year Engineering
Diploma Examination of this academic year, will also be permitted to take the Entrance
Examination(s) provisionally. But, such candidates should prove their academic
eligibility on the date of admission.
Candidates applying based on B.Sc. Degree, referred to under
paragraph 2 B (iv)above, should have passed the Degree Examination at the time of
submission of application.
Age Limit for KEAM 2013Exam:
The candidate
should complete 17 years of age .
KEAM 2013 Application Forms
Only one application need be submitted for the Entrance
Examinations for admission to one or more of Medical, Agriculture, Veterinary,
B.Pharm, Engineering and(Architecture) Courses.
SC/ST candidates should apply in light Yellow application
forms and all other candidates should apply in the General application form
(Light Blue).Candidates under ?Other Eligible Communities' (OEC) should apply
in the General application form. Candidates who are children of Inter caste Married
Couple, of which one?s SC/ST, should apply in the form meant for SC/ST.
Fee of KEAM 2013
Application: General candidates - Rs. 700/- ; SC/ST candidates - Rs. 350/-.
Note: Scheduled Tribe (ST)candidates whose annual family
income is below Rs.40,000/- can have Application Form free of cost from the
specified branches of SB Tan district offices of the Scheduled Tribes
Development Department on production of Community Certificate and Income
Certificate.
KEAM 2013 Application
Distribution Centers: The Application form and Prospectus will be distributed
through selected branches of Canara Bank and State Bank of Travancore in Kerala
and outside the State. The amount towards the fee of application is to be
remitted in cash at the distribution centre. The list of Canara Bank and State
Band of Travancore branches, selected as sales centers, is appended separately.
Application Forms will not be available by post or sold from the office of the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
KEAM 2013 Application Form: All candidates will
receive the application form, OMR Data Sheet, an envelope bearing the address
of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations and the Prospectus. Candidates
should ensure that the Application number printed in the Application Form, OMR
Data Shetlander the cover are the same.
Facility to Download the KEAM 2013Application Form:
Candidates not claiming any reservation/belonging to the Non-Keralite Category?II
can apply in the prescribed format by downloading the application from the
website cee-kerala.org. Such candidates should send the filled-in application
along with a Demand Draft for Rs. 700/- (Rupees Seven Hundred only), drawn on any
Nationalized Bank, in favor of the? Commissioner for Entrance Examinations?,
payable at Thiruvananthapuram, so as to reach this office before the last date
and time for receipt of applications.
Candidates opting DUBAI (UAE) as the Centre for Entrance
Examination: Candidates, who choose ?DUBAI? as their centre for the Entrance
Examination, should submit along with their filled in application form, a
Demand Draft for Rs. 7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand only), drawn on a
Nationalized Banking favor of the 'Commissioner for Entrance Examinations', and
payable at Thiruvananthapuram. Those applying in downloaded forms should
enclose a Demand Draft for a total amount of Rs. 7,700/- (Rupees Seven Thousand
Seven Hundred only). The candidates opting Dubai centre should note that the
examinations are conducted as per Indian Standard Time(IST).
Last date and time for receipt of filled in KEAM 2013
Application Forms:
The filled in KEAM 2013 Application Form along with
the OMR DATA SHEET and other relevant documents, to be submitted with the
Application Form, is to be sent in the printed envelope bearing the address of the
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations supplied along with the application form.
By Hand Delivery/ Registered Post/ Speed Post. Completed Applications will be
received in the Office of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations on
holidays also.
Belated KEAM 2013 Applications: Belated applications
will be rejected. Candidates are therefore advised to apply well in advance. The
Commissioner for Entrance Examinations will not be responsible for any postal
delay.
Candidates will not bellowed to include any information in
the application former to submit any Certificates/Documents claiming
reservation or any other benefits, after the submission of the application,
under any circumstances. Requests in this regard will not be entertained by the
Office of the Commissioner.
Certificates that are to be obtained in the body of the Application
should be obtained in the body of the Application form itself.
Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily
REJECTED and no correspondence will be entertained in this regard.
The Entrance Examinations and the subsequent allotments will
be based on the various provisions laid down in the Prospectus approved by the
Government. An extract of the Prospectus will also be available in the website
of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations at ? www.cee-kerala.org?. Candidates
are requested to go through the various provisions in the Prospectus before
submitting their applications.
